Winnie The Pooh Soundtrack Review

Winnie The Pooh Soundtrack Review: This is a review of the film score Winnie The Pooh by Henry Jackman.

"It's Winnie the Pooh and the music is as charming as ever"

This year Disney goes back to its roots with one of the most beloved characters and universe created by A.A. Milne. Here we meet Pooh, Tigger, Owl, Rabbit, Eeyore, Piglet, Kanga and of course Christopher Robin in yet another fun-filled adventure. Pooh is of course hunting honey and mis-reading notes from Christopher Robin that has him and his friends believe that Christopher Robin has been kidnapped by the creature named "Backson". The composer is Henry Jackman.

Track List

16. Stuck in the Pit / Balloon Chase****

18. Winnie the Pooh Suite*****

When I was talking about Disney going back to its roots, I meant literally. The drawings, the animation, the voices, the story, everything including the music has been visiting the old Disney classic tales of Winnie the Pooh. The soundtrack itself is a mix between score by Henry Jackman and songs by Zooey Deschanel and others.

Classic

The score part in this soundtrack consists of 8 tracks by the every so versatile Henry Jackman. No doubt he was told to re-create the same type of score that was featured on the classic Disney animation and in this he succeeds one hundred percent. I has to check the soundtrack again and again to make sure this was actually 2011. This sounds more like 1960s.

I have to say I am very impressed with the sound and quality of the tracks. Granted, the tracks seems to float into each other, but they are so fun and charming so I don't mind.

It all ends in a wonderful way with 'A Honey Happy Ending' and 'Winnie the Pooh Suite'. If I am going to be strict, you only need to listen to the suite because it pretty much has everything you need unless you are craving more. The Winnie the Pooh theme is of course present plus some added antics.

Conclusion

Henry Jackman has succeeded on making this as classic and friendly as possible. It's Winnie the Pooh and the music is as charming as ever. I don't really know what could have been improved on this score, except to match with my own acquired taste, but then it wouldn't be fair to Winnie the Pooh. Great work yet again by Henry Jackman who seems to do all kinds of film projects.
