I hate it when I hear the Arthur theme - the song is kind of delightfully bad, but it sticks in your head like a piece of dried-up gum. Can’t get it out…

“Best that you can do…best that you can do…is fall in love….”

Hehe, I don’t know. I still find it charming :D

The 80’s saw the rise of cobbled together film soundtracks; basically just singles that could be marketed as a soundtrack album and I hated it. I wanted proper soundtracks, great sweeping orchestral soundtracks. That being said - most of Ghostbusters is great. Especially The Bus Boys and Mick Smiley.

To each it’s own I guess. you really have love 80s music to enjoy the 80s soundtracks I think. Ghostbusters didn’t do as well as for example Top Gun because they went with the hit approach. “Everyone” knows the Ghostbusters song, but ask someone what other songs there were on that soundtrack and you’ll see plenty of blank stares.

Maybe it’s time for soundtracks like Juno, who’s undoubtedly been a huge hit with mostly unknown songs. I couldn’t be happier :)

I really loved Magic from the Ghostbusters soundtrack too. Such a creepy sounding song, especially when watching the impending doom develop onscreen. Watching the video took me back!

Waynes last blog post..The Spank Bank: Rosario Dawson

Hehe yeah, it almost made me watch Ghostbusters this weekend. I would have if I had time. Great memories.
