Howard Shore To Score The Hobbit And More Soundtrack News

I’m sure this is great news to everyone who loved his scores for “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, which basically covers anyone. His scores are still on the bestseller charts as far as soundtracks go, and I can’t imagine “The Hobbit” taking a different route. I’ve heard some people who want to hear other composers do this, but come on! Howard Shore… “The Lord of the Rings”… Doesn’t get much better than that.

Brian Tyler is set to score for “The Fast and Furious 4″ coming next year which is excellent news. His score for “The Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift” was pretty good. It certainly was much better than David Arnold’s 2 Fast 2 Furious score. Here’s hoping Mr. Tyler is on his way to another great score. I might also add that Brian Tyler is composing for the live action version of Dragonball coming in April next year.

John Debney has added another movie to his composing list, and not surprisingly it’s another comedy. This time it’s for the movie “Hotel For Dogs”. This one is coming in January next year.

Is anyone else excited about Craig Armstrong scoring for The Incredible Hulk? Personally I can’t wait to see what he comes up with. I am listening to “Elizabeth: The Golden Age” which he did with A.R. Rahman last year and imagining what it can be.
