ELAN Video Game and Animation Award Winners 2007 announced

Here’s a quick rundown of the “important” categories:

* Best original musical score in an animated production: Bruno and the Banana Bunch Cuppa, Coffee Studios, Adam Goddard.

I have not heard this one, but I will definitively check it out.

* Best original musical score in a video game: Assassin’s Creed, Ubisoft, Jesper Kyd.

Assassin’s Creed

Assassin’s Creed was a great game with a great score and I have to ongratulate Jesper Kyd for an amazing piece of music. Jesper Kyd is known for the Hitman game series and it’s refreshing to see him keep up his high quality scoring outside of the Hitman franchise. The competition was really hard. The other nominees were: Mass Effect, Company of Heroes, War Hammer: 40,000 Dawn of Dark.

May were surprised when Bioshock wasn’t included, but you can’t win them all Gary! Other scores “snubbed” were Lair by John Debney and Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune by Greg Edmonson and Warhawk by Christopher Lennertz and Timothy Michael Wynn.
