I love sports movies, and this was a good one. It’s something about these movies that awakens me. You’ll find me cheering on the heroes, hoping and praying that they’ll get a last second winner (which surprisingly happens a lot). I also love the comebacks. The comebacks are great, especially when they come from these unlikely underdogs. It’s inspirational, not only for entertainment purposes, but for life. The music of course plays an important part to build up the mood through defeat and victory. This song by Trevor Rabin captures that. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen the movie, but this song is heroic, it’s the time for heroes to be heroes. Listen to it and you know what I mean. There’s also disappointment here, because this score has never officially been released so the only way to get this is through p2p networks unless you happen to know someone in the biz. This is a great score in its entirety, and this song is proof of that. Enjoy!

How does one define beauty? Perhaps there is no definition, but this song comes pretty close. In addition to being beautiful, this song has special meaning to me. This song got me seriously interested in film music. I had never thought of the music in movies much before that beyond the main themes, but this changed everything. 1492 by Vangelis was my first ever movie score that I bought, in fact I think I have bought 5 because I played them so much the CD’s got worn out and still to this day it’s still as beautiful as ever. I’m sure you have heard this song before, but if you haven’t, lucky you to hear such beauty for the first time. Enjoy!

Now listen closely to this amazing song from this great score by Klaus Badelt. It is love from start to finish. Put it on for your love on Valentine’s Day and just see what happens. It comes from a rather unknown movie called Wu Ji (original title). It was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at Golden Globe in 2006 but didn’t win.

This score is simply amazing and Love Theme is just one example. I just love the way this song grows from just a look, a touch until magnificent epic love. Enough talk, listen to it below:

The Last Samurai is such a great movie and it has a great soundtrack by Hans Zimmer. This song and “A Small Measure of Peace” are my favourite tracks from this album. Red Warrior is a special track, as it changed character 3 times within the sing itself which is about 4 minutes long. Listen to the beautiful start, the powerful strings and then it takes off at around 1:20, and this is my favourite part with all the warriors chanting, I love it. It fills me with honour and pride whenever I hear it, makes me go out there, draw my sword and into battle. Then it changes character again around the 2 minute mark, and it goes into a more frantic tone. Listen to this song and tell me what you think.

I present you one of my all time favourite soundtrack songs. It’s from the movie The Guardian starring Kevin Costner and Ashton Kutcher. The movie itself was quite good, but this could have been Trevor Rabin’s proudest moment. Unfortunately this is the only song that exist on the soundtrack and I haven’t been able to verify if there are more unreleased stuff out there.

The song itself is absolutely stunning and you need to listen through it all because it’s like more songs in one. The beginning with the voice gives me chills, and then it starts to change into a song that resembles Trevor Rabin’s earlier work. This song should be on every movie score fan’s playlist. It is simply too beautiful to explain it so why don’t you listen to it and let me know what you think?
