I heard this score back in 2006. It was called Black by Chris Tilton.
On a more serious note, A few samples sounded interesting and fresh. I’ll probably buy it. I love scores like this anyway. The stuff with nylon stringed guitars really stands out as new and fresh.

It doesn’t sound too fresh to me judging by the samples, but we’ll see. I’m going in not too impressed on this one, but I’m hoping it will positively surprise me.
Always been a fan of Brian Tyler. First score I ever heard of his was Children of Dune and I was sold right then and there. I am choosing to stay optimistic about this one because he hasn’t REALLY disappointed me yet *cough* Harry Gregson-Williams’ Prince of Persia *cough*! Looking forward to this one!
Also are we going to get a review of Hans Zimmer’s and Henry Jackman’s Henri 4? Listening to a few tracks right now and am intrigued.

I’m a fan of Brian Tyler too and I hope The Expendables will deliver.
As for Henri 4… well. I might have something unique for that
I wish he went for a more guitar-driven soundtrack. I’m really getting tired of these generic orchestral scores. I hope it won’t overwhelm the film though.

I also like Tyler’s guitar based scores, but I won’t completely dismiss this just yet. Have to listen to the full score first.

Considering The Expandables looks more like “Epic action” than “aggressive action” (Crank), I guess it would suit. It sounds pretty good, just a little too generic.

I’m excited, but also a bit worried. From what I hear of the samples I heard almost every score he has made in the last few years, but I also heard some exciting music in there and with a few new themes I really hope that I enjoy it as much as I have Tyler’s work in the past.
