John Williams is a master at what he does. The music he has made for movies will stand the test of time. He really puts his heart and soul into everyone of his compositions. The last few films have been good, but that magic element he brought in the first few was missing. He very well could be the greatest film scorer in Hollywood.

I hope John Williams returns – I felt as though, after he left, the films were just not as good as they could have been. Doyle composed some good stuff as well as Hooper, but it didn’t scream MAGIC like Williams’s themes

I love John Williams work and his themes that are timeless. but I think too much of his work is theme-based. Patrick Doyle went all out for the fourth Harry Potter film and made something unique for almost every track. Even Nicholas Hooper did some new stuff. I want John Williams back, but I want some new memorable stuff.

It would be incredible news to hear confirmation of John Williams coming back to score Harry Potter. What John Williams did with the first three movies was nothing less than amazing, and I would be very happy to know if John Williams is for sure coming back to do Deathly Hallows.

I’d prefer Patrick Doyle, to be honest. Love John Williams, but his scores are a little TOO theme based. Using the same music cues over and over and over. Which can be great, but I was really happy to see Harry Potter move past that.
