As you all may have read earlier. The score for the new Star Trek film will be released by Varese Sarabande on May 5th. Here we have some updates surrounding the tracklist and cover of the album. Star Trek is directed by J.J. Abrams and stars Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto. The movie will be released on the 8th of May.

The music is full, rich, and lifts you out of your seat. Hear samples at Startrekmovie.com. Really does the job of creating an enthralling and direct emotional experience as good movie music should. Better, I’d say, than much of the harp-heavy John Williams work but with all of the magic. Wonderful reprisal and orchestration of the Alexander Courage theme at the end. Brilliant!

I think they’re amusing. Not fantastic for sure, but it fits in with Giacchino’s style of making his track titles decent plays on words.
