Video game scores are a beautiful thing. They sound like their bigger brother the film score and feature prominent composers like Danny Elfman and Harry Gregson-Williams. This year there are 6 nominees for Best Original Score and those are:

Assassin’s Creed (Jesper Kyd)
Jade Raymond, Patrice Desilets, Claude Langlais
Ubisoft Montreal/Ubisoft Entertainment
Dead Space (Jason Graves)
Development Team
Electronic Arts/Electronic Arts
Fable II (Russell Shaw & Danny Elfman)
Development Team
Lionhead Studios/Microsoft Game Studios
Fallout 3 (Inon Zur)
Todd Howard, Emil Pagliarulo, Istvan Pely
Bethesda Game Studio/Bethesda Softworks Europe
LittleBigPlanet (Daniel Pemberton)
Kenneth Young, Mark Healey, Leo Cubbin
Media Molecule & XDev Studio Europe/Sony Computer Entertainment
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (Harry Gregson-Williams & Nobuko Toda)
Harry Gregson-Williams
Kojima Productions/Konami Digital Entertainment

There are some heavy hitters here like Harry Gregson-Williams, Jesper Kyd, Inon Zur and Danny Elfman, and some new names like Daniel Pemberton and Jason Graves. Whoever the winner will be, the video game scores keep getting better. The GAME British Academy Video Games Awards will take place on Tuesday March 10.
