2009 couldn’t have started any better than this bit of juicy news. Harold Faltermeyer, the legendary composer who composed the excellent music for “Beverly Hills Cop”, “Fletch”, “The Running Man”, “Tango & Cash”, “Top Gun” and more has decided to return to Hollywood and continue where he left off.
The question remains whether he can return to his former glory. It would indeed be a very tough task, but if he is up for it, anything is possible.
I hope that with his comeback we might see complete and official releases of scores like “Fletch” and “Fletch Lives!” on CD and Digital. What is even more exciting is the prospect of new music from the man. With the possibility of a “Beverly Hills Cop 4″ in the horizon, there should be no debate on who is to compose for that one.
He has been missing for a long time. but last year he had a mini-comeback with the score to the videogame “Two Worlds” which you can listen to here: YouTube preview clip
His new website is up and although there are no sound clips, I’m sure there will be in the future. I’m sure I’m not the only one who wished Harold Faltermeyer all the best for 2009 and onwards. The legend lives! His website: http://www.haroldfaltermeyer.net
