folder 300x300 Jeff Beals Appaloosa wins at Hollywood Music AwardsThe Hollywood Music Award winners are finally announced after a busy weekend. Previously, the winners in the video game category was announced, but now the full winners list is ready.

The big one went to Appaloosa by Jeff Beal who won for Best Original Score – Film. Congratulations to Jeff Beal and all involved. Many have tipped this for the academy awards next year, but we’ll see what happens. The other nominees were:

James Newton Howard (”Michael Clayton”)
Alberto Iglesias (”The Kite runner”)
Terence Blanchard (”Miracle at St. Anna”)
Aaron Zigman (”Flash of Genius”)

So no joy for James Newton Howard’s “Michael Clayton” this time either.

Pushing Daisies by Jim Dooley won for Best Original Score – TV as I predicted earlier. I had a storng feeling it would, and I’ve heard a promo score for this one, and it seems interesting. Not a fan of the TV series though. This score will be officially released on Dec 9th and you cen preorder it here. The other nominees were:

Sean Callery (”24″)
Lisa Coleman & Wendy Melvoin (”Heroes”)
Michael Giacchino (”Fringe”)
Tobias Wagner (”Labyrint”)

I had hoped Sean Callery would have won this for his amazing work on the 24 series. Maybe he will get some next year.

Finally here are the other winners. Congratulations!

Best Original Song – Film
MARCHING BAND – TRUST YOUR STOMACH (“Nick & Nora’s Infinite Playlist”)

Best Original Song – TV
RONNY MORRIS – EVERY TIME IT GETS REAL (“The Ghost Whisperer”)
