In 1978, John Carpenter gave birth to one of the most memorable characters in horror movies, Michael Myers. It went on to become a legendary horror movie and 7 sequels were made plus 1 prequel. Halloween is known for more than Michael Myers however because it has one of the most memorable cues ever made for film. The Halloween theme is instantly recognizable and pretty much everyone knows it well. Last year Rob Zombie made Halloween, a prequel to the 8 existing movies which tells the story of Michael Myers and how he became the monster that he is. This time it wasn’t John Carpenter who composed but Tyler Bates. He made a new version of the Halloween theme and it would be fun to see what you think of it so I made a video featuring both songs. Please vote using the poll below the video which one you like the best.

Tomorrow a weekend of horror fun begins, starting with the big one, Halloween. I love horror, but good horror scores are hard to find. I will feature some great cues from horror movies and there will be a review of the classic 1978 score of Halloween and the new Tyler Bates promo score from 2007 + horror radio and other interesting stuff, so keep checking back! Here is the promised video. Please vote!
