The Dark Knight 2CD Special Edition!
Yes it’s true ladies and gentleman! My prayers have been heard and Warner Bros are set to release a 2CD special edition on December 9th this year and I can’t think of any better christmas present! Here’s a little info from Hans-Zimmer.com:
“The Special Edition features the complete score on two CD’s plus four bonus remix tracks ; it also contains an 8x8x40 page hardbound book.”
Guess what folks! It inludes the 14 tracks on the original release and adds another 14 (including 4 remixes). The price is set to $51.99, and might seem a little expensive, but can you really set a price on brilliance? The Lord Of The Rings Complete Recordings cost more and I wouldn’t even flinch paying what they want, and the same applies here. So get your orders in now! Check out my film score review of The Dark Knight by Hans Zimmer & James Newton Howard.

Hehe, it is! Even 5 extra tracks is worth $50 to me
. Big fan of Crystal Method and Paul Van Dyk so those remixes should get me going as well.
Meh. TDK’s music was quite underwhelming compared to BB’s. LOL, proof of this is them releasing ALL TDK’s music. You can’t do that with BB cause it relies so much on the music for the film’s emotional punch
BB was great, TDK was fantastic. The fan made expanded version of BB was nice, but I hope they get an official release out there because I crave more
Well the Expanded version is approximately 45 minutes longer which includes a 2 minute longer end credits and various album edits + trailer music as well.
pretty sure what we get are just a variations of the themes we already know, I don’t believe they cut out the best parts of the score from the film. Giving that I didn’t liked 1/3 of the original OST, will skip this one cause bit-to-bit double dipping is for geeks only(i.e. Jorn
!
I know, but even variations are nice. No one is complaining about getting the complete recordings of LOTR and every piece of music there is magnificent and should be on the original CD in the first place (which of course is not possible). I expect nothing less of TDK which probably will be THE release of the year for me. Of course if you didn’t like the original OST, then there’s no point in getting any extended or special editions.

I’m totally not interested in those 4 remixes, just a fool’s hope that the rest 10 tracks would worth a 50$ :^)
