“Yes, you can still hear the “Lost” sound, but there’s more to this than you think”

What can you say about 67 completely new tracks from the Lost series? How about a total play time of 2 hours 34 minutes? In my dream world, this is what soundtracks looks like, so let me just say how impressed I am and pleased that it is possible. Now back to business, what does the soundtrack sound like? If you have heard Lost Season 2 and Lost Season 1 soundtracks you have a pretty good idea, but I feel that Michael Giacchino has evolved. Yes, you can still hear the “Lost” sound, but there’s more to this than you think. I used to think the previous Lost soundtracks were a bit random, but this is different.
Different, But The Same
What is different about season 3? I am not sure, as I stopped watching after season 2, but maybe my love for lost has been rekindled with this massive effort by Michael Giacchino. What I do know is that there is a theme here, and much more varied than before while still retaining that feeling from the previous seasons. Lost is Michael Giacchino’s legacy, he will always be connected to Lost and Lost will always be connected to Michael Giacchino. Seeing how this soundtrack differs from his previous efforts, there might be a very happy ending here and I’m not talking about the show. All in all, I am very impressed, but there’s still a long way to go. Listening to this gives me hope that he will do something different from Star Trek and not fall into the trap of repeating himself too much. Bravo Michael Giacchino for a score well done. I think this will please both fans of the show and the music and also people who found season 1 and season 2 scores a bit too much “out there”.
Negatives:
- In bits and parts, still too random
Positives:
- 2 CDs, 67 tracks, 2 hours 34 minutes
- Varied, different than before while retaining the “lost” feeling

LOST themes are some of the best from television. This composer also did video games such as Jurassic Park The Lost World too back on PlayStation.
