Hans Zimmer borrowed the harmonies and the arrangement's style for The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons from this score definitely! :)

Oh my goodness, this is a great score. The planets certainly aligned with this movie. The movie itself has everything: great action for the guys, intense romance for the ladies, sweeping vistas, and terrific acting and directing. Hard to imagine this came from the guy who did Miami Vice.

I grew up listening to this soundtrack every summer driving from Texas to Tennessee, to Florida, and back to Texas. In high school, my World History teacher showed us a clip from the movie, and offered a prize to whoever could guess what movie it was from (knowing that we were all too young at the time to have seen the movie). I recognized instantly that it was this movie, because of the theme. To this day, I've never seen the movie all the way through, but adore the music. It's absolutely beautiful.

I wouldn't do this except you asked :)

Here's a link to my 'Movies Made Great by Music' post:

far from definitive but perhaps somebody might disagree with one or more... that would be fun!

Film-Book: I'm in awe over how good this soundtrack is. Cora is my favorite theme from this album in addition to the main theme. I always get teary eyed when I hear that theme. Just beautiful.

Ken: It certainly should be! Just out of curiosity, what else is on your list?

Madcrow: Yep, I'm in total agreement. It is a good movie on its own, but I wonder how much the score really meant to it. Requiem for a Dream, that's an interesting one. I think the score have done better than the movie financially. Brilliant stuff. The movie was great too. I love The Da Vinci Code score as well. Although I found the movie interesting and enjoyable, I have enjoyed the score a lot more.

Love the score for the film.. I agree with above.. One of the main reasons I love the film was due to the score.. Up to a few years ago I use to listen to the soundtrack when going to sleep.. Definitely up there with Requiem for a Dream and The Da Vinci Code's Chevaliers De Sangreal..

<em>Madcrow's last blog post..<a href='http://tomorrows-entertainment.com/hi-yo-silver-the-lone-ranger-is-heading-to-the-silver-screen/' rel="nofollow">Hi - Yo, Silver! The Lone Ranger is heading to the silver screen..</a></em>
