It all came together so greatly. What could have been a standard dance movie turned out to be this iconic hit and I can just imagine what the sales numbers for the soundtrack and DVDs must be. I was just thinking the same thing. The amazing dancing and singing done by Patrick Swayze must have been quite a task. Hollywood need a good ending right now with so many stars falling away like Heath Ledger and recently Charlton Heston. Nothing would be better than a miraculous turnaround and comeback for Patrick. I wish him all the best for the future. Great comment!

It all came together so greatly. What could have been a standard dance movie turned out to be this iconic hit and I can just imagine what the sales numbers for the soundtrack and DVDs must be.

I was just thinking the same thing. The amazing dancing and singing done by Patrick Swayze must have been quite a task.

The story of the making of this movie is just as inspiring from what I can recall. This added to Jennifer Warnes & Bill Medley's soundtrack resurgence with "You've lost that loving feeling" from Top Gun and Jennifer Warnes "Love lift us up where we belong" from An Officer and a Gentleman. To have this song be a duet that mirrors the characters was brilliant move and to have Partick sing a song as well on the soundtrack as dance and act in the movie further cemented his character and the film in our collective consciousness. I can't imagine what it must have been like for him to express the so many of your natural talents and have the film be a huge success as well. Even more amazing is to also have your wife have a part in the movie as well.
