Bioshock wins award at AIAS

Last night the 11th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards were held at Red Rock Resort and Casino in Las Vegas and the winner of Outstanding Achievement in Original Music Composition was not surprisingly Bioshock by Garry Schyman. It is also nominated at International Film Music Critics Award for Best Original Score for a Video Game or Interactive Media. It’s also up for a CUE award and nominated a massive 8 times in this year’s Game Audio Network Guild awards.
The other nominees for an AIAS award were God of War II, Heavenly Sword, Lair and Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. In other words, wow…
When you listen to Bioshock, you will understand why, as this is simply an amazing use of classical instruments like string and piano combines in a beautiful composition. It is really a different kind of game soundtrack. Congratulations Garry Schyman, well deserved! Listen to it below:
